On December 1, 2022, the scientific and practical conference “Modern Museum of Urban Archeology. Problems and Prospects of Creation”, dedicated to the study, museumification and popularization of archaeological objects during the creation of a new city museum, as well as the experience of exhibiting and monitoring the state of archaeological objects in museum storage conditions.

 

The conference was attended by archaeologists, museum staff, specialists from other areas from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Smolensk, Derbent. The conference participants discussed issues related to the formation of archaeological collections and the display of archaeological materials within the framework of modern museum exhibitions, the organization of archaeological research by museums, as well as issues of interaction between museums and modern research centers.
